Press contacts

blood glucose testDiabetes Support Forum, as a non-affiliated, non-commercial, member-run information and support exchange, reflects the concerns and opinions of hundreds of ordinary UK diabetics.

Its forum posts can provide the press with an invaluable patient perspective on diabetes care and policy that may offer a sharp contrast to that of official policy makers and organisations officially recognised as representing diabetics.

Although the forum has no collective policy, the moderators are happy to provide contacts who can:
• reflect general patient opinions about particular issues as expressed on the forum
• offer personal opinions and comment on diabetes issues

Popular topics include:
Obesity, the "diabetes epidemic" and official campaigns
Dietary issues, including diabetes cookery books and advice
Diabetes education, including a user perspective on official programmes
Diagnosis of diabetes and healthcare delivery
The economics of treatment versus effectiveness
A patient perspective on "breakthroughs" in diabetes treatment

Facilitating press contact with typical diabetic patients
If you need comments from diabetics with particular experiences, we will be pleased to try to put you quickly in contact with suitable ordinary diabetics who can express personal views.
