I believe that my diabetes is linked to my medical history as there is no-one in my immediate family or wider blood relatives with diabetes, so I will start relating my journey a year prior to diagnosis.
10/5/09 - family history update - looks like I do have a genetic pre-disposition as my mum has recently found out that at least 1 of my dad's 6 sisters had diabetes (type unknown) - dad passed away 24 years ago so I was unable to gleen that info at the time I was dx
