Hi all

Currently cannot log into SL and these are the issues I have raised with their support:
Quoted Text
1/2/2010 11:47 AM PDT       Customer Posted a Comment        CustomerPetal Paulino       I have now "spoken" to my SL friends in an online chat room and I understand that my "avatar" is still in SL, posing around even though I am not logged on and have had my computer turned off for 15 hours during the period since I last was able to log on.
It is quite important that I get online since I run a diabetic group in SL and in the very near future a UK/Europe wide diabetic newsletter produced by Abbot (Medisense Blood Glucose meter manufacturers located in Germany) will feature an article on the diabetes support island in SL along with an interview from me and they saw fit to spend a considerable amount of money sending a photographer to photograph me, which will feature along with a pic of my avatar. This newsletter is sent to all their meter users Europe wide. This is, of course, tremendous publicity for SL and will reinforce it's importance as an educational tool. I would really like to be there to welcome enquirers when the article appears!
1/2/2010 11:24 AM PDT      Customer Posted a Comment       CustomerPetal Paulino      Since last updating you with the information regarding IP address etc I have tried the following:-
Rebooting the router - no joy
Restored my computer to a time when SL was working - similarly no joy.
Uninstalled SL via add/remove programs, rebooted computer reinstalled SL. When trying to log in I was told to download an updated version which I did and installed it. I still cannot log in.
Prior to this I was asked all sorts of questions regarding IP addy and even the serial number of my mother board!!!!
Hope to get back soon!

i've heard good things about the Emerald viewer

most of the builders (houses, clothes, shoes, jewelery, you name it) on SL use that viewer for it's more capable functions

Was that with emerald or the official SL viewer?

I have tried Emerald and theres not much difference frankly.  Not for the average user anyway.  Might have the odd advantage for builders.

Emerald is basically the standard SL viewer with a few bells and whistles, most of which will be of very little use to most people.  So it doesnt make much difference really.

New version of the SL Viewer due this month - apparently gives snowglobe (currently the fastest viewer) a run for it's money and fixes loads of bugs, also adding a bunch of new features for builders (full mesh support rumoured), and multithreading (finally)

The reason i found emerald viewer useful is due to a couple of things:
1. i tried to log in, was told couldnt until downloaded newer version. downloaded it to be told stil couldnt log in. forgot the error message. logged in first time with emerald.
2. when in a role playing sim, i needed 2 alts online at one time. with SL that required messing around with the program thingymabob. which is confusing if you dont understand it. plus, it caused crashing. emerald lets you log on up to 5 times on one pc. i tried this cause im curious.
3. so ive been told by OH, you can attach items to left pec or left pec 2. so he can carry double the amount of fire arms in the RPsim.
